Herdade do Rocim — Attraction in Cuba

Not only was the wine not good, but we also were extremely overcharged. We were four people but asked to only do two tastings, we were told that would be fine. When the girl brought the glasses she brought two for each of us which made us think she may have misunderstood us, so we again mentioned that we only wanted two tastings. She said ok. My husband wanted to try the wine from the clay pots, so he selected the Amphora premium tasting at €30/ tasting.

After we started the tasting we noticed that all the wines had been aged in oak, I asked if we were tasting wines that had been made in the Amphora pots, but the girl informed us that no, none of the wines we were tasting we from the Amphora, though the tasting was called the Amphora premium tasting. Also, she served wine to three of us, though we kept telling her we only wanted two tastings.

All of this, plus she broke a glass, and it really was feeling like a fiasco. The girl was nice, but when it came time to pay she insisted on charging us for four tastings! We couldn't believe it, but she said those are the rules, it doesn't matter how many tastings there actually were, if we all four drank wine she had to charge us for four tastings, those are the rules. Insane. We have tasted wine all over the world and almost always share a tasting and have never had this happen.

Such a terrible experience, and the wine was not at all what we would want to drink. Far too acidic and one dimensional. I would not recommend this place and we will not go there again. There are far better...

We had such a wonderful time at our wine tasting at Rocim. We were given a tour of the facilities and told the history of wine making in the region and at the winery, ending with a lovely tasting of Amphora wines and a cheese platter. The wine was absolutely delicious and our guide was patient, kind, and very helpful. We had an amazing time, and the staff were also incredibly friendly. When we had some troubles getting a ride out of the winery, Ines from the marketing team spent time making sure we had a way to get home and made us feel well taken care of. Era um local que costumava frequentar, com amigos e família. Quando namorava a minha mulher íamos lá muito, foi inclusive à beira do lago que a pedi em casamento. Já depois de casados continuámos a ser clientes e após sermos pais como podem ver nas fotos continuámos a frequentar. Há uns anos, 3 ou 4.. no dia em que as fotos foram tiradas um prego na cadeira onde me sentei fez um furo nas minhas calças e inclusive fez-me um arranhão, falei com a funcionária para terem cuidado para não acontecer de novo e para que tirassem dali aquela cadeira, podia ter magoado por ex. o meu filho, felizmente foi a mim. A funcionária pediu desculpa e retirou a cadeira, quis inclusive oferecer o valor da nossa despesa, que eu não aceitei e deu-me um endereço de email para eu expor o sucedido pois tinha danificado as calças. Assim fiz, continuo à espera de resposta aos mails que enviei até ao dia de hoje. Entretanto não gostei de ser ignorado e desvalorizado por responsáveis de um local que me era tão caro e especial para mim e para a minha família e deixei de lá ir e de consumir os...
