This is a great place to visit, ideally on a windy day when the turbines are spinning and making an unworldly sound which adds to the unreal experience of being up here.

So, Google Maps will give you great directions but be aware, it's up an unmade road which is narrow and very steep. You'll be asking whether your horrid hire car will make it. I got up there in a Renault Captur with four people on board. This is one of the very worst cars I've had the misfortune to hire so if this will go up, pretty much anything will.

As the driver, you'll want to know that the road gets better and also that there are loads of places to turn around and park.

Ideally park a few hundred yards from the house and walk so you get a feel of the landscape. Usually you can't walk this close to wind turbines and they are quite imposing.

The house itself is fenced off, but when we went there was a guard on duty charging 2 euros a person to get in and its worth it. You can't go inside the house, which is tiny, but you can get up close.

Only an hours activity, but you'll be...

This is a nice place. Very relaxing among nature. Breathtaking landscape. It's possible to see a lot of big cities in the north and mountains. There are 2 visit options. Outside only for 2€ and inside with a guided tour for 5€ per person. The guided tours are at sharp hours. The person doing it was very friendly and very detailed in the explanation of the house and it's story. Our guide was the son of the original builders and we were able to get additional insights of the house.

So far it's still for private use but it could be for renting. I'd definitely go there just for its quietness, relaxing and unstressing from the modern and technological world.

It's close to the famous rally...

I'm glad I read the reviews before going so I wasn't too disappointed! The fence around the house was indeed quite vast. I wonder what has happened? Does the house have a new owner or did someone do something to the house?

Anyways, I didn't feel welcomed though this had been a dream of mine to see. I didn't even know there used to be a way to get inside. I watched a video of the indoors and it looks so cool!

If it was my house I wouldn't want random people in or around the house either. The owner is lucky to have this peace of history and...

Tried to visit this stone age house few years ago but it was closed. Now it's open to public and have Portuguese and English guide for your guided visit (cost 6€, kids 3€), which takes around 1 hour to go all exterior sides and interior history. This house is private propertie and owners sometimes still lives, so check before coming as its not so easy and close to come to visit as around there are no other bit attractions. Also you can visit just area for 3€. No toilet or cafe available, parking place you have a lot.
