Editing to say 3 days after leaving my review, I've STILL not had an apology. I've noticed that everyone else gets a reply after 24 hours! Unbelievable.
Had I have received an apology from the management then I'd have given this park a much better review. As it stands I am extremely angry at their total disregard as to what happened to me, and I'm still in pain now!! Upon arrival myself and my party were so excited to enter the water park, there were no long queues (we visited April 2025) and everywhere looked clean and tidy. My friend rented a Cabrera which was a brilliant secluded area for us with our own large locker, sunbeds etc. The second ride I went on was one of the big slides all in a row, there was a lady at the top watching on the camera to make sure you'd exited the slide before allowing the next person on the ride. My friends 12 year old son was on the slide and came to a standstill, the lady said that some swimming costumes/shorts stop you from sliding, but he managed to get going again and off he went. I got on the slide but quarter of the way down I came to a complete stop, I wasn't budging an inch, I had to use my arms to try and push myself down, I went on my side, my front, anything to get moving again!! But, as I knew the lady was watching on the camera I felt safe in the knowledge that no one else would be let down the slide until I was safely out! HOW WRONG I WAS!!!! I happened to look around just as a young girl was hurtling down the slide at speed right behind me, I managed to lean to the left and she leaned to the right, how the hell we didn't collide I don't honestly know. It took me a further few more minutes to reach the bottom, and I was shaking, extremely upset, and hyperventilating as it had been a terrifying experience. Oh and just as I landed in the pool a man literally landed just behind me, so that was two people that had been sent down on top of me!! Then to top it off, my friend noticed my foot was pouring with blood. Off to the first aid I went, the lady sprayed my foot and eventually stopped the bleeding from a very deep gash, to be told I couldn't go on any rides due to the risk of infection. I spent the day hobbling around, in pain but knowing I'd be speaking to a manager before we left. Upon leaving we spoke to said manager, and requested that I get a refund as I'd spent the day there but couldn't go on any rides (I'd spent a small fortune there on food, drinks etc so it wasn't like I wanted a free day out!) and all he said was NO we don't give refunds, go to hospital and go through our insurance. What an awful attitude to have. Please be aware that if you get hurt on a ride through no fault of your own, that they will not take any responsibility. A week later, my foot is still extremely red, swollen and sore. A simple apology would have...

Read moreBased on my experience, i would not go back here, not because the place is bad but because of the issues i encountered. I was there on Friday, 12.04.24, and Monday, 15.04.24, as part of my jet2holiday booking in alvor baia Resort Hotel. Friday went without issue but on Monday i bought a water tight plastic and put my phone in it cos i wanted to capture my ride on the slide. The sign had a 📷 that was only allowed if hanging from the neck or ( can't rem the other condition). I was told i could not use my phone as it was not a camera, but after arguing with the attendant abt that,i was allowed and as i came off, this guy that was a manager or some sort of position met me and told me,in a harsh manner, that i can't use my phone or i will be escorted out by security.I didn't want any issue so i put my phone away when i had to do other slides. But the real situation was the shuttle back to my hotel. On friday,we were dropped at the right bus stop but monday when the driver( same driver on friday) stopped( this is my first time in Portugal)i went to him and asked" is this the stop to alvor baia resort hotel ?" Cos the stop didn't look familiar from friday,he nodded. I alighted with my daughter. We then discovered that the nearby hotel was tivolli Alvôr and not ours. That was how my daughter and i were walking around for almost 15mins in the hot sun, lost, exhausted, panicked and asking for directions from anyone we saw. We were fortunate that our shuttle bus driver from alvor beach, saw us asking someone for directions with the hotel leaflet and turned and picked us up enroute to picking up guests from the beach.I made a complaint to the jet2holiday representative...
