Great hike! 100% recommend.

To do the hike from the Luz side, follow the road from the beach up the hill until you come to a parking lot just above the last house. From there, cut up the hill to the obelisk by following the blue and green marks (picture). Follow the cliff and the marks all the way down to to Porto de Mós. I found the trail to be well marked all the way to Praia de Porto de Mós. If you cross to the other side of Porto de Mós, there’s an even more interesting trail that continues to follow the cliffside until Praia Canavial that is very...

This final leg of the 200+ km Rota Vicentina, from Luz to Lagos, proved to be a popular choice for both joggers and strollers. I saw everyone from serious trail runners to families with young children enjoying the path, as it's a fairly easy walk. The terrain is mostly flat, with just one challenging 100m hill near the beginning. The views along this section are absolutely stunning, with panoramic ocean vistas and dramatic cliffs. It was a fantastic way to end my journey on the Rota Vicentina, and definitely worth the...

Do not follow the google maps directions they are completely wrong and take you in land rather than around the coast. If you do take the walk around the coast I the views are incredible but if you follow google maps you go in land and risk trekking on private land.

The correct route to take is from heading uphill from Praia da luz public car park and walking directly to the cliffs ahead of you. The first part of the ascent is steep but doesn’t last long (about 15 mins of up...

Great trail from Praia do Porto de Mos car park to Praia da Luz waterfront. Most of it is easy, just the uphill start and the downhill finish are a little more difficult (just take it easy, you’ll be fine) This trail is part of the final leg of the Fisherman’s Trail (Rota Vicentina) a 226.5 km hike from Sines to Lagos. We love this hike as the views are quite spectacular.
