This trail is an easy one. You can walk from one end to the other in about 2 hours, depending on your condition. The whole route is on the same level with no stairs, just 7k of rather flat concrete and solid ground. Just be sure to bring enough water on a warm day. During the trail there is no place to replenish your water, but the local farmers do have a small supply of local fruit (depending on the season) which you can purchase for approximately €0.50. We walked from one bar to the other and back and needed 4 hours on a slow pace. Read moreNice walk! It’s quite flat, so great for (young) kids. The part we walked (almost to the end) had a few narrow and slightly steep sections, so kids need to stay alert. Definitely not suitable for strollers.
Parking is free – just leave your car in the small village near the start. The first 10 minutes go between houses, but then you’re out in nature. The trail is more open with lovely views, but that also means less shade, so bring hats and water on a sunny day.
The only downside: we were a bit disappointed to see some rubbish people had left along the way. Such a shame, because otherwise it’s a really enjoyable and family-friendly...
Read moreThis hike was a lot more beautiful than expected. You get really nice views over the valley and you also pass by a lot of flowers, banana plants and people's gardens. It's also perfect if you have fear of heights like me: there were a few spots where I felt a bit uncomfortable, but it was definitely a safe hike. When we went in August around 10, we had the trail almost completely to ourselves. Only on the way back we got stuck behind a group for a while, but it was definitely a calm and enjoyable hike!
