The Convento de Santa Cruz do Buçaco in Portugal is a special place!

It's an old monastery, built back in 1628, right in the heart of a protected forest, called Mata Nacional do Buçaco. The surrounding woods are so lush and green - it feels like stepping into a peaceful, hidden world.

The place is full of history and I could feel the calm of the monks who once lived here. I really enjoyed exploring it, especially knowing that it's a blend of both old history and...

We were there on a rainy day with a group of 20 people on our motorbikes. We wished to enter the hotel lobby to purchase coffee and drinks. We were turned away by the hotel clerk/manager who was rude. Imagine, they had the opportunity to impress 20 visitors and a high end tour group (Edelweiss Motorcycle Tours) to possibly obtain future and repeat business, and they refused to let us in. They made us all stay out in the rain. Horrific and horrible...
