It is a marvelous cave that was discovered in the 60s and is now closed most time to preserve the Neolothics engravings and paintings, which supposedly date back to 10-30.000 years ago!
Due to its very delicate conditions, it can only be visited by booking a visit (at least 24h in advance), which costs only 3€ per person, lasts ~60’ and is at 10:30 or 14:30 from Tuesday to Saturday. The engravings and paintings are really flebile, but the place is so cool and the guide is so kind that this is going to be the best 3€ you will spend in quite some time.
Visits can be booked by calling the phone number of the Interpretation Center, or via email at the gov .pt ones (other emails are deprecated and do not work...

We were able to call from Spain a couple of days in advance but had to call certain days/times per the recorded message. The cave is not open unless you have a reservation as there is no...
