Miradouro da Vista dos Barcos — Attraction in Nordeste

Great viewpoint from which to see Lagoa Furnas and the surrounding area. We passed this several times going in and out of Ribeira Quente but hadn't had it on our list of places to see. I'm glad we decided to go after seeing the signage, the view of the lagoa and town are spectacular. I feel like this is a hidden gem among the miradouros, as there were very few other people there with us.

My son would say give the site bonus points for the napping cats, but I would highly recommend this...

This is a lovely spot with a scenic view of the nearby lighthouse. It’s a peaceful place where you can take a break, enjoy the surroundings, or even have a picnic. You can drive directly from the main road all the way up to the viewpoint, which makes it very accessible. However, keep in mind that while the road is wide enough for two cars to pass, there is limited space for parking and turning around...
