The castle can be seen for miles around, which is quite lucky as reaching it by car is a nightmare. The streets are narrow, made narrower by steps jutting out and lots are one way. We gave up and dumped the car on the outskirts and walked to the castle which we could see through the gaps in the houses. The castle is free to enter and has a very good museum onsite, giving a good history of the district and the castle itself, enmeshed in regional family politics. You can walk a circuit of the walls but other than that there isn't much to it. There's almost nothing inside the curtain wall and the main tower is closed to the public.
