Came here with our motorhome in October 21. Unexpectedly good find for somwhere safe and quiet for a couple of days. As the beach bar and leisure business has closed for the winter there are absolutely no facilities. However Portel is only a 10 minute drive away for filling up with water, emptying waste, disposing of chemical toilet and replenishment at the nearby Intermarche while doing your laundry. The local village has some basic shops and bars as well as a brilliant restaurant called O Afficianado which is only open at lunchtime and has a delicious 3 course set meal for only €15 pp including a bottle of wine and liquor aperitif. The scenary from the car park is breathtaking and the sunsets are spectacular as we have photographed. My Wife is a landscape acrylic artist and was mesmerized by the colours and changes on the water. Loads of wildlife too. Read moreWhat an amazing place! The views, the location, the food, the hosts... Everything was beyond amazing!! It's a divine place to eat and enjoy some time swimming or just sunbathing in the sand! During the Summer, please book in advance as it fills up quickly! Ohhh and the deserts... exquisite!! One of the best gastronomic experiences ever! Read moreHere there is chemical pollution in the water, as evidenced from two dead fish washed up on shore this morning and much telltale white foam. I stayed two nights, the first two days were gorgeous. It is a beautiful place but seems humans are again poisoning the water, either from the agriculture waste running into the water, runoff from the highway, or contamination from the hydroelectric damn. Now experiencing some painful itching on my skin....
