🇬🇧 Not highly rated by me. This is just a steep stepped uphill walk. The steps are embedded logs but unfortunately the earth between the logs is washed away meaning you have to place each foot on a wet and slippery log; an ankle snapper waiting to happen. There are no views at all due to the density of woodland on both sides. An anticlimax on reaching the top but the option then is to join a much better levada walk (Dos Cedros) which I did. When I finished this walk and returned to Ribeira da Janela, I opted for a return via the road considering the downhill slippery log and muddy path too dangerous.

Step walk, not for everyone. Not marked well. We got lost twice and had to use goole map to find track. Very wet track. Starts nowhere and ends nowhere. Not much to see on the way. Sure you can spend 4h walking some better levada

Nice trail in the woods. Definitely not an easy one, also if you decide to go for it be prepared to then follow up with the Levada dos Cedros trail to the Fanal forest, otherwise you will get nowhere special with just this trail. Recommended if you...
