This is THE quintessential Terceira vista of green fields and miles of rock wall quadrants hundreds of feet below you. Don’t even bother going though if it isnt at least partly sunny- this miradouro will disappoint if you don’t have sunshine. Extended platform out from the cliff is made of selfies, just don’t do anything stupid like the Brazilian teens we saw when we were there, standing on the railing... in 80-100kph gusts of wind. Real Darwin Award candidates. There is another vista on the other side of the one way road, looking out over the airport and the sea. Both get crowded, and parking is at a premium,...

Pretty incredible view. Reminds me of Scotland. On a clear day you can survey the volcanoes and the rolling landscape which the locals call the 'tapestry'. There are several turn offs for cars or larger vehicles, and at least one large viewing platform. Take a panoramic series of photos, or do as I did and take a sweeping video so that you can take it all in again at a later date. Great place so spent an hour or so while...

Beautiful landscape! We all loved it. It was really windy and a little bit cooler than on the coast side. At first we couldn't find it because there are 2 Serra do come on Google maps! The road from the south (we came from Ribeirinha) was really narrow, a typically agricultural road and we met with more than one tractor. Luckily we didn't need to reverse, this would have been really tricky on the small road.

A must-do in Terceira! Amazing 360 view over the all Terceira island. Take a moment and enjoy the silence, the wind and the shades of green so much typical of this amazing place. Look around, maybe you’ll be able to spot one or two cows. Anyway, do that and then drive into the center of the island where amazing landscapes will as we say in France “take your breath”
