Caminho do Pináculo e Folhadal is a 15 km trail, with an expected duration of 6:30 hours, crossing a preserved natural area, both in terms of altitude - the highest point of the trail is at 1490 metres - and of the Laurissilva forest.

Beginning next to regional road ER 105, at Lombo do Mouro, Caminho do Pináculo e Folhadal is considered difficult, following Levada da Serra and Levada do Norte.

At some points, however, hokers will stop following the 'levada' to take a stone-paved trail.

At the top of the trail, in the Pináculo area, there is access to a panoramic view over the Ribeira Brava valley with Pico Ruivo and Pico do Areeiro as a backdrop.

Along Caminho do Pináculo e Folhadal, take a look at the 'municipal path', a section of public path paved with stone.

From the terrace at Levada do Norte, you can enjoy the surroundings created by the tunnels and waterfalls that regularly appear until you reach the Folhadal area.

Hiked with kids. Amazing views and nice path through the nature partially by levada and passing under waterfalls. Our 3,5 year old made almost full 4,5km round trip on her own so nice for kids that have some stamina in the legs and like to climb among the bushes. Es ist ein wunderschöner Wanderwege entlang der Levada do Caldeirão Verde.

PR9 ist ein mittelschwer mit einer Länge von 8,7 km (+ 8,7 km hin und zurück) ohne viele Höhenmeter und bietet Wanderern die Möglichkeit, die Orographie des Inselinneren zu erkunden, das für seine monumentalen Landschaften bekannt ist. Die Herberge Casa de Abrigo das Queimadas im Queimadas Forest Park bewahrt die ursprünglichen Merkmale der typischen Casas de Santana, dreieckig und mit dem traditionellen Strohdach. Kurz nach dem Start findet man die Terrasse von Levada do Caldeirão Verde. Es ist sehr grün, fast wie im Dschungel... wahre Schönheit der Natur !!!

Der Weg befindet sich inmitten des Laurissilva-Waldes, wo reichlich Wasser durch diese historische „Levada“ aus dem 18. Jahrhundert zu den Feldern der Gemeinde Faial geleitet wird. Entlang der Levada do Caldeirão Verde, die von Steilhängen und Bergen unterbrochen wird, passiert man vier in den Felsen gehauene Tunnel.

Erst dann findet man den See Caldeirão Verde, der durch das Wasser des Wasserfalles gebildet wird, der senkrecht aus dem Bett des Baches Ribeiro do Caldeirão Verde aus einer Höhe von etwa 100 m fällt.
