The walk to the waterfall was quite enjoyable as the path was mostly straight and not overly challenging. It took us approximately 2 hours to reach the amazing waterfall. Throughout our journey, there was consistent fog from the beginning until we arrived at the waterfall. Considering the weather conditions, we recommend bringing a rain jacket as it started raining on our way back and it can also be useful around the waterfall.

Despite the rain, the path was not excessively wet or slippery due to the ample tree coverage. However, it is advisable to wear waterproof shoes to navigate the large puddles in the tunnels. It's important to bring lamps as well, one for each person, as the tunnels are low and narrow. Walking in a single file, visibility of the rocks and puddles can be limited.

While exploring, we noticed that the fence was damaged in a few places, but it seemed to be marked for repair in the near future. It shouldn't pose a significant safety concern.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience, although the waterfall itself might not be worth the long walk if that's the sole purpose...

This is a great park with several hiking trails. We hiked the Caldeirao Verde trail. It was great for our 11 year old. We definitely carried our 3 year old a lot due to the steep drop offs right next to the trail on the very narrow parts. Keep that in mind with younger ones. Trail can get very slick and muddy. It will take you more than 2 hours to get to the big waterfall if it is during peak time. Just be patient with the crowd. Let people pass on the narrow trails. They will also let you pass as well. If you get stuck behind someone slow, you will get a chance to pass them. Just be patient. If you are driving up, same thing. Go slow. There are turn offs to let each other pass. Be sure to bring tissue paper to use for...

The location is great with some short trails and eating facilities. This is the starting point of a longer trail as well. Getting to the official parking lot was basically fun, but may be a bit challenging for unexperienced drivers: there was a big crowd, in many cases the road was not wide enough for two cars (so one of the cars coming from opposite directions has to go offroad), and the fact that there are a lot of car parking along the road (also in the bays that otherwise could be used for stopping and giving way to the guys coming from the other direction) does not make things easier. We saw some interesting situations and solutions. :) But the place is really nice so it is worth coping with the challanges on...

✨🧚‍♂️🌿🍃 A mythical, magical forest that truly transports you to another world with its moss-covered trees and rocks! We were completely impressed by the atmosphere, feeling like we had stepped into a fantasy movie. However, a major downside was the trail conditions. It was muddy from start to finish, even though it had not rained in over a week. Other reviewers mentioned the mud being bad after rain, but it seems the trail stays muddy most of the time due to the lack of sunlight reaching the ground. It was so difficult to walk through that we eventually had to detour and return to the road to get back to our car.
