Santarém Water Park — Attraction in Santarém

Small water park but good enough for a few hours of sun and enjoy the pool. If you're staying on the Silver Coast in Portugal you'll know that unfortunately, the weather is not great for the beach as is foggy most of the time so this place is great for escaping that. Apart from and still knowing that we visited on a Saturday and it is August, there was a massive queue but was also very disorganised as some people without any common sense started to formate a smaller queue to try to get in front of everyone that was already queuing for a few minutes. We were in the queue for a good 20min or more and people started seeing this and some people in the same queue as I were so frustrated that went straight to speak with some police officers who realised and sent the other queue to join the end of ours. But still, there were a lot of people who got away with it and got in before anyone else. The place was very crowded but that is to be expected for the time of the year. Another very annoying thing is the staff going around the water park and even inside the pools to almost try to force people to take pictures with their birds or inside the pool. They do not know how to listen not for god sake!!! You're trying to be there enjoying your time and every other half an hour "Let's take a picture" Do you know how annoying that is??? If people want to take pictures they will go to you!! Still could enjoy it but needs more organised! By the way buy your tickets in advance online as it works much cheaper then in the ticket hall...

This place was one of my favorite water parks every time I was in Portugal, but unfortunately its been a year since my last visit and a lot of the good things about it have decreased. I've come on a Sunday morning middle August, arrived at 9.00am because we've tried coming later before (11.00am) and couldn't even park as the car park on surrounding area was completely full. The pools got crowded around 12pm, to many people in the pools, long queues for the rides, people being rude and disrespectful with others, jumping into the water over other people, teenagers fighting in the pool and hurting older people and kids. So sad too see! Staff ignoring bad behavior and more concerned with bothering visitors to take pictures of them even in the water! (guessing they profiting a lot with the pictures). Music on the park is a local radio playing advertisements. People over drinking on the bar an arguing out loud! Don't recommend this Waterpark anyone, I myself will...

Really enjoyed my time here but the food in the bistro looked like canteen food and the sandwich bar outside always had a long que, the ques for the slides where windy and long but i guess this is down to the weather. They have changing rooms and showers that everyone can use. They have 3 main pools to use here one being a childs pool with a small slide and water features which spray constant streams. The second main pool is just that a pool to swim in, and the third pool has a wave machine in which collects the most amount of people to it so be carefull if you arnt a good swimmer. There are umberellas you can rent to sit in shade when not in the pool, be aware that the umberellas that are built in do have a charge on them so if you wish to sit here someone will come to ask for money.
