It is the most beautiful beach! Long beach with small white sands and crystal clean seawater. Plenty of space for everyone.
There are a lot of off street free parking nearby by the entrance. It would be quite full if arrived late, so you may need to go further if you want to have a free parking. There is also a paid car park just next to the entrance. It is maximum 12 euros a day. As we didn't want to walk far away, we chose the paid car park.
A short walk through the bridge, then took a short rail around 2km to the beach. The rail costs 1.80 each trip pp. Under 5 is free. Some people chose to walk.
It took a bit of time to the beach, but it was worth while we chilled and relaxed on the beach!
There are also few restaurants onsite to provide tapes, sandwiches, salad, cocktails, ice cream etc. Washrooms are just next to the...
Read moreVery nice beach to go to that is services by a train. You can walk the distance from the road without using the train but it's pretty hot in the summer and certainly for me it was worth paying the return price to hop on the train. The beach is on the coastal rd between luz de tavira and Santa Lucia. Parking is a nightmare. If you dont get there early , you can be gaurenteed a Long walk. I have seen the the only available parking almost at Santa Lucia. Just before the beach itself, there are a few restaurants and a smattering of little stores. Like everything else aimed at tourists, it's over priced but then who is counting their shekels when on holiday when you can enjoy an experience in a quaint location. The beach itself is very much like all the other in that area. Beautifull, calm and divided into concession and non...
Read moreBrilliant clean beach, beautiful spot to spend a day.
We went late March and still not too busy. Good facilities including toilets, restaurants, good recycling options all over the beach, loved the little bench seats with shade looking out to sea - this made a lovely spot to eat a packed lunch.
It's worth visiting if only to see the anchor graveyard - so beautiful.
Even in March parking was quite a walk away, I'd recommend arriving before midday to avoid the long walk but it is free parking all along the road. There is a paid for car park quite close but the price was fairly high for short stays, from memory it was €12 or €14 for "all day".
If you do have a long walk for parking at least you can hop on the small train to avoid the walk from the entry...
