It was at least 400-500 feet from the cliff face to the waters edge and the sand was quite firm so very easy to walk on.
This beach was enormous and relatively empty, I joked about it later by saying they averaged 1 person per acre and the noise from the waves was delightful.
There were maybe 20 surfers of varying skill levels to match the variety of waves that came in on long swells, some only a couple of feet high and some that I would estimate at 6-8 feet. I am talking about the waves now, not the surfers.
Plenty of parking and a beach bar that looked inviting but I was the driver so I did not sample their wares.

Read moreThis beach is one of my favorites. It's often not suitable for swimming because of the waves (except paddling and surfing). In mid to low tides it is one of the most beautiful place in the world for a really long walk on the beach. Parking is easy and in season there is a reasonably nice restaurant.
SAFETY TIP: It can be "sneaky" in some tides and turbulent wave conditions so you should plan your walk to the far corners so that you don't get stuck. Note the location of the last highest tide so you know how high it can be in the area. Otherwise you're going on a hike up...
