if you are looking for short trek very near to mumbai khandoba devsthan is the answer. the religious too can do this trek. it's about 15 km from badlapur station and about 1000 ft height from the base. steps have been built with paver blocks and takes around 45 minutes at leisurely speed tp.climb to the top. the climb is rich with flora and fauna and surrounding views are great. from top observe the 360 degree view of ulhas fed platau and right upto panvel to the east. the temple deity is khandoba and temple has minimal restrictions. views are excellent. the steps are a bit slippery in monsoon. there is an annual fare jn navaratri when you can enjoy a lot of goat meat served as sacrifice.

The temple is situated at top of mountain. The goverment has made steps so climbing up to temple has become very easy. It takes around 20 mins to climb up for an person with regular exercise routines. It is bit tough in middle patch where slope is too steep but we can sit on steps or hold side bars. Once we reach top, the temple has some shade where we can take rest, other than that there are 4 benches fitted at each corner of buit up. The view from top is worth watching, especially the sunset. The temple is quite maintained even though it is top of mountain. Just we need to carry ample water since there are no water sources.

There are total nearly 560 stairs and complete journey is tough if you are going in afternoon. But the khandoba temple, atmosphere and the view at the top totally worth it. There are many dogs on the way and at the top near temple. Feels like real khandobas residing in this place. But try to climb in morning or evening when there is no sun as it will be tiring in afternoon. Also any person with health and breathing issues should avoid because it is one of the difficult place as stairs are more and not easy to climb. Overall it is great place to visit.

Lovely divine experience. Jai Mahakal🙏 A good treking experience as well. Need lots of energy and take your own food and water as you wont get any at top. You get 360degree view at the top from Karjat to Badlapur to Taloja to Kalyan to Murbad and beyond. Chikis at the base of trek must try from locals. Mind the steps could be tiring, so up-walk zigzag and downwalk zigzag to less strain your legs. Also if possible carry some food for pets around. Wear appropriate clothes as you would trek religious place with lots of turmeric around.
