Al Shuaa Reserve — Attraction in Al Khor and Al Thakhira

I visited a park in Qatar that is perfect for families! It's a great place to spend quality time with your loved ones. 🌳👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This park doesn't allow kids' scooters, but you can bring a baby stroller to make it easier to explore. Inside the park, there's a farm with a variety of animals and birds, including horses, rabbits, Arabian oryx, a big turtle, hens, ducks, parrots, cute tiny birds, and even an ostrich! 🐴🐇🦜🐢 Your kids will have a blast seeing all these wonderful creatures.

It's the perfect place to take a leisurely walk, chill, and relax with your family. Plus, the park offers free entry and has plenty of parking spaces available. The park is open from 8 am to 8 pm, except on Fridays when it opens from 3 pm to 8 pm.

Al Shuaa Nature Reserve in Al Khor has reopened to the public.

The 13,000 sq m park, which is designed to be eco-friendly with solar energy lighting, has dozens of animals including Arabian oryx, deer, ostriches and goats.

The family friendly park opened in late 2018.

As part of COVID-19 restrictions being lifted, Al Qamra Beach Park will also reopen.

Public parks and beaches in Doha began to reopen on July 1.

Any visitors to the parks need to follow the government's safety guidelines, which include using the Ehteraz app, having a body temperature check, keeping a safe distance from others and following general hygiene practices.

We recently visited this lovely little reservoir and were genuinely surprised by how peaceful and beautiful it was! Although it’s a small area, it’s packed with charm and natural beauty. There’s lush green grass all around, making it perfect for a relaxed family outing or a quiet walk.

One of the highlights is the variety of friendly animals—tortoises, rabbits, geese, ducks, hens, goats, parrots, and even a horse! It felt like a miniature farm meets a nature sanctuary. The animals are well-kept and roam freely in their designated spaces, which kids especially will love.
