I recently visited Al Gharrafa Park, located on Umm Al-Zubair Street in Doha, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots for a refreshing day out. Spanning 50,000 square meters, the park offers a perfect blend of modern facilities and beautiful green spaces, making it ideal for both families and fitness enthusiasts like me.
One of the most impressive features is the air-conditioned jogging and walking tracks. At 657 meters long, these tracks stay cool (between 26°C and 28°C), which means I can enjoy my workouts comfortably, even during Doha’s scorching summer. The cooling system is powered by solar energy, which I found to be an amazing eco-friendly touch. The pathways are also shaded by climbing plants and Mashrabiya-inspired designs, offering a refreshing and pleasant environment to walk or run.
For cycling lovers, there’s a dedicated 639-meter bike path, and if you don’t have your own bike, there’s a rental kiosk on-site. I also noticed two well-maintained play areas for kids, thoughtfully divided for younger children (ages 2-5) and older ones (ages 6-12), including accessible options for children with special needs—something I really appreciate.
If you’re into fitness, like me, you’ll love the outdoor exercise zones equipped with modern gym equipment. After a good workout, there are four restaurant kiosks where you can grab a quick bite or a refreshing drink. The park also has plenty of parking spaces and clean facilities, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.
What stood out to me the most is how much effort has gone into making the park sustainable. There are 343 trees, including native species like Sidra, Samar, and wild Ghaff, which not only offer shade but also help reduce heat and dust in the area.
Whether you're looking for a relaxing family outing or a motivating workout spot, Al Gharrafa Park has something for everyone. It’s peaceful, well-designed, and incredibly convenient—I highly recommend...

However, a friendly heads-up to parents: while the park is great for little ones, it can get quite busy with children on scooters and bikes. It's wise to keep a close eye on your kids to ensure they don't get bumped amidst all the excitement.
