One of the worst Zoos I have ever visited. Noticing the reviews it should come to your attention that all the uneducated people would say this place is "very good". In reality the conditions here for the animals are disgusting. You can see house pets such as dogs and cats in small, dark and dusty/dirty cages. Almost every animal is suffering, starving and extremely thirsty. Animals like lions and zebras, horses and camels are given small rocky and terrible environments where they can barely move. You can notice firsthand how bad the state of the animals were. To make things worse I had witnessed animal abuse by the under paid Indian workers to the poor camel. slapping, whipping and pushing/pulling right before the visitors eyes. This entire location was such a disappointment and I'm offended and how terrible the conditions as it's to the point where not only are the innocent animals disrespected but we visitors too. Another location that scarred the once happy children was the place with animal corpses. Previously passed animals of the zoo are stuffed and kept in horrifying places. Unhappy animals, terrible conditions, dusty and dirty broken down zoo which is truly the most disturbing and disappointing zoo I have ever visited. I want this location either shut down or renovated and cleaned. Polluted water for animals, rubbish and dirt everywhere, suffocating smells from poor suffering animals and the worst conditions I have ever seen in any...
Read moreI will keep this as objective as possible. The zoo and game reserve has an safari park, a zoo, an amusement park, exhibition center, heritage and maritime museum and a theater area . Entry fee was set at 10 QR and even though some structures are old and being in the middle of the desert, it is not that bad. If you expect a grand spacious and cool place, don't come here as it is hot, crowded and sometimes noisy. On a Friday you can expect anything between 2000 and 3000 visitors. There is facilities to come for a day and do your barbecue and enjoy with friends and some in house entertainment for the kids by gymnasts at no extra cost. They cater for food if you do not want to lug around your own cooler box or bag and the cost is reasonable. What to see? There is a large variety of animals considering the location and baring in mind that a lot is rescued animals that are being catered for. Coming from Africa, I am no lover of caged animals and neither a huge fan of any zoo but the staff is well trained and full time veterinarian care of the animals. Some of the cages seemed small and the water supply not all that fresh. A new addition is the overnight cottages for visitors that want to experience a desert experience in close proximity of animals. Tame animals is available for the kids to ride under...
Read moreI love how the park is isolated from the city, so it's a nice roadtrip to get there, you'd expect to see a proper park, Zoo or a reserve whatever you wanna call it, but sadly it's far from being a decent park, it feels so much pain when you see the condition of the poor animals there, the lioness is poorly fed which very obvious, it's just one lioness, there is one Hyaena inside the red cages which barely can see through, and the poor Hyaena keeps moving around in a very small cage, as well as the beautiful black monkey "Zaytoona", i could keep going telling how bad the conditions are for animals, please I beg for the park owners and management, look after the animals, improve the facilities there, and charge more, like 50 QR and more, I'm willing to come every week and pay that amount to see those poor animals live better, and I am a content creator, and i have connection with some influencers, i promise i can make you a free video to promote the park after making major changes and improve the lives of animals there, and now is the perfect time since the weather is good. take...
