Mr. Safir Puts the âIâ in Safari â A Thrilling Desert Adventure!
If youâre looking for a laid-back sightseeing tour, keep scrolling. But if youâre up for an adrenaline-pumping, laughter-filled desert escapade, Mr. Safir and his team are your people!
I booked this tour just hours before it started, and from the moment we met at the National Museum metro station, it was clear this wasnât going to be an ordinary day. First stop: a motor center for some quad biking. For those who preferred to keep their heart rates in check, a bottle of water and a seat in the shade were available. But for the thrill-seekers, there was an option to hop on a quad and kick up some desert dust.
Next, we made our way to the camel camp. Because whatâs a desert adventure without a bit of swaying atop a humpy companion? A short ride (30 rials, easily purchased on-site) later, we were ready for the main event: the off-road dune safari.
Now, forget roller coasters. This was the real deal. In a convoy of roaring 4WD Toyota Land Cruisers, Safir put his foot down and turned the desert into our personal amusement park. Up, down, sidewaysâeach dune was a new challenge, and each turn brought fresh screams and uncontrollable laughter. By the time we reached our first stop, we were all buzzing with excitement.
Safir, the multitasking legend that he is, not only drove like a pro but also doubled as a photography instructor. Under the dazzling desert night sky, he and his fantastic colleague, Mr. Salman, gave me a crash course in capturing stunning shots with my phone. Who knew Iâd come back with both memories and new photography skills?
After another round of sand-surfing in the car, we arrived at Sealine Beach, where my only regret was forgetting my swimming gear. But wading in the cool waters of the inland sea was still a refreshing experience.
The return trip was smooth and enjoyable, with a quick stop to reinflate the tires. And hereâs where Safirâs legendary hospitality kicked inâafter some light persuasion (read: a little begging on our part), he treated us to the best tea in Doha at Lenar Teatime. That cup alone was worth the trip!
All in all, this tour was an absolute winner. Safir and his team were friendly, welcoming, and full of energy. If youâre an adventurer at heart, open-minded, and ready to embrace the unexpected, youâll have the time of your life.
âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ â Highly recommend! Thanks, Team...

Read moreGuide was very communicative and worked with us to pick us up at the National Museum of Qatar and drop us off in the Pearl District where we were staying. He took us on a great tour of the Souq Waqif showing us the many different areas and teaching us about Qatari culture. This was a highlight and we could not have easily navigated the Souq ourselves and would have missed many of the sections took us to, including the falconry area.
We also got to try fresh dates which were delicious. We had the Dhow boat tour to ourselves and enjoyed the skyline of new Doha at night before going to the Katara cultural village. Guide made sure we were comfortable and hydrated as we visited during the hottest time of year. This was an excellent tour to learn about and see a lot of Doha in an evening. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Doha for the first time or who hasn't gone to...
