This place is phenomenal! I will absolutely be heading back, soon. I 100% recommend this area. There are great trails to hike and run on. I did some running initially for about 20 minutes, it was extremely hot that day so I stopped, hydrated and switched to hiking. I had a pack with me, which I would advise anyone that is hiking to ALWAYS have a pack of essentials with you. You never know what could happen, even experienced hikers/adventurers get turned around/ lost from time to time....

The Lewis and Clark Trail is an 8 mile loop and has some great views as well as some very different ecohabitats to explore. This is one of my favorite trails in the St. Louis metro area some amazing views from the bluffs are the best part of the trail. There is a good amount of uphill climbing, but if you just want to experience the bluffs over the view of the Missouri, take the Lewis trail directly south to the river and then come back to the parking lot.
