Info
Rajgad is a Hill region fort situated in the Pune district of Maharashtra, India. Formerly known as Murumbdev, the fort was the first capital of the Maratha Empire under the rule of Chhatrapati Shivaji for almost 26 years, after which the capital was moved to the Raigad Fort.

Read moreRajgad fort is about 60km from Pune and there are couple of options to reach there. I chose the Bangalore highway route via Nasrapur. This better and has good accessibility. On my return I chose the other option via Khed Shivpur but it wasn’t great(though avoided toll) as roads were too narrow(for about 3-4 kms) for a car and one could get stuck if there are tractors etc. Meanwhile, I reached the base of trek start near Gunjavane village at 7:00am(on 21Jan2024).
