Brancoveanu's Palace — Attraction in Alexandru Odobescu

While the location is not as good as the other famous palace built by Brâncoveanu at Mogosoaia, the palace from Potlogi it is still not far from the capital city of Romania (just 50km away). I did a day trip with my bicycle to Potlogi, the road is not perfect all the way there, but is not crowded. The palace and the entire complex, including the garden and the annexed buildings are newly renovated and look great. The palace can be visited inside also, with access in several rooms and also to the backyard terrace. The interesting pieces exhibited in the rooms recreates the atmosphere from the era of Brâncoveanu, that way you can easily understand the use of each room of the palace at that time. They also have a small museum outside the palace, with some old carriages from different times. The guides are very welcoming, they are willing to answer to any question the guests might have or to reveal interesting details about the history of the palace. A must see architectural and historic attraction in the countryside of Dâmbovița region, easily accessible through the A1 highway + 5 more km on county roads or, alternatively, just traveling on winding county roads in agricultural farmlands, coming from DN7/DN71 Bucharest - Târgoviste old route (of course, from the experience point of view, this latter option is advisable). O sa încep prin a spune că am fost fan al acestei locații, am vizitat ansamblul de 3 ori, dar ultima data m-am lovit de nesimțirea angajatelor de acolo. Ajungem acolo și nu ne anunță nimeni la intrare, unde se plătesc biletele ca nu este tur ghidat, iar de aici începe o comedie tipic românească, actori principali funcționarii publici. Aflu cu stupoare de la o "coana" arțăgoasă în sala expozițională, că nu este tur ghidat, puțin deranjata de privirea mea și de faptul că doream sa aud ceva, nefiind grup de 10 persoane (eram 9). După asta când am ieșit în curte se întâlnește cu cea care ne-a vândut biletele și o atenționează ca ar trebui sa spună cu nu este tur ghidat, iar de aici începe adevărată nesimțire a personalului, tipa care mi-a vândut biletele îmi spune ca pe undeva pe la intrare scrie pe nu știu ce hârtie. Ii explic frumos ca am mai fost și ca am avut parte de tur ghidat(chiar de 2 ori) iar de acolo începe un dialog ce nu își avea locul într-un ansamblu cultural, dânsa într-un capăt al curții eu în celalalt, vorba aia... bun simț de unde... (deja tot grupul era plin de dezgust), în conac paznicul ce ne-a fost atribuit pentru a ne arata camerele nu atrăgea atenția celor care nu purtau mască ( perioadă cu incidență ridicată Sars-Cov-2), în schimb era foarte atentă la discuțiile dintre noi turiștii, dând ochii peste cap la 2/3 minute. Concluzie de final atribui o stea, deoarece astea sunt limitările platformei google, altfel as fi acordat un mare ZERO. Decât sa bateți 50 de km din București către Potlogi recomand cu mare drag alte ansamble muzeale similare din zona Urziceni.
