The architecture is lovely, but the garden and the website could use some upgrading and tending to.

I couldn't reach the guide by the mobile phone given by them officially. I strongly advise you try to call first, to check the availability.

When I got there, I had to wait about 30 minutes before the guide came out of the castle with a senior couple. It was rude to tell us (myself and my parents) that he's not in mood to guide us anymore, since it was lunchtime (nowhere officially written somewhere), and we should come another day.

We live about 200 km away from the castle, so the opportunity was lost. There was no sort of official schedule he abode by, which was a disappointment. We didn't get to visit the...

What a beautiful hidden jem! If you want to experience how the Transylvanian nobles lived, and how a Transylvanian noble mansion looked like you want to find this place in the heart of rural Transylvania. It's beautifully restored hunting mansion/rural castle. You can walk around in the garden, enjoy the little pond and you can explore the castle with the guided tour. The personal is very helpful and kind and they make your visit a great experience. You can feel the love what they invest In this place. definitely recommend you to make a stop here for a few hour, and enjoy the authentic Transylvanian experience. There is a small restaurant or coffeshop right in the castle ,so you can make a very...

Arrived ar 11.20, told to wait until 12.00 for the guided tour, which I did, having a coffee at the guesthouse, which was nice. Waited for the guide until 12.15, being told, that I have to wait until a group arrives, which I did. Tour started at 12.45, I was given a device to listen to and sent into the castle alone. Could have done this at any time sooner, respecting my time. Interesting architecture, moderately interesting interior, poor guide service. Nice to visit the parc and the outside, but tour not recommended, all other places, I visited, even mansions used as guesthouses, do it much better, sometimes for free (like the Ugron house in Fiatfalva or Daniel...

One of the hidden jewels in this area with good organisation and both a beautiful inside and outside. You must buy tickets (cash only) at The Stone Pub (50m walking distance from the castle) and wait a bit for a group to form to get the inside tour. But while you wait, you can either visit the exterior of the castle or get something to drink or eat in The Stone Pub - nice authentic rustic decor. Once inside the Kalnoky Castle, you get an audioguide that explains about every room and where the objects come from, but if you have any questions, there is a guide that can answer them. It's a must see if you're in the area during the weekend.
