I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Bucharest Zoo, and I must say it was an overall delightful experience. With over 9000 species housed within its premises, this place truly stands as a wildlife haven. The zoo's dedication to conservation and preservation is evident, and it offers a wonderful opportunity to witness a wide array of animals up close.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff at the ticket counter. They provided me with all the necessary information and answered my questions with a smile. Inside the premises, the staff members were equally friendly and helpful, making the visit all the more enjoyable. Their passion for the animals and their welfare was evident in their interactions with visitors.
One of the highlights of the Bucharest Zoo is undoubtedly the impressive variety of species it houses. From majestic big cats to exotic birds and marine life, the zoo offers a diverse collection that caters to all animal enthusiasts. I was particularly amazed by the opportunity to observe some rare and endangered species up close, contributing to a valuable educational experience.
However, there is one aspect that could use some improvement. The markings on the asphalt passages inside the zoo were quite faded and difficult to follow. This made navigating the premises a bit challenging, as I had to focus extra attention to ensure I didn't miss any animals. It would be helpful if the zoo administration could address this issue by re-marking the paths, making it easier for visitors to explore the entire zoo without any confusion.
Despite this minor setback, the Bucharest Zoo still provides an enchanting experience for visitors of all ages. The enclosures are well-maintained and offer adequate space for the animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education is commendable, and they often organize informative programs and interactive exhibits for visitors to learn more about the different species and their habitats.
In conclusion, the Bucharest Zoo is a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts. With its extensive collection of more than 9000 species, friendly staff, and a focus on animal welfare, it offers a memorable experience for the whole family. Although the faded asphalt markings can be a minor inconvenience, I would highly recommend this zoo for anyone looking to appreciate and learn about the fascinating...
Read moreGreat zoo and the animals are getting taken care of as well as being shown love and good living conditions.
I have visited it twice to see the animals thoroughly but then I went there many times again as it is also a good replacement for the regular parks. ( The kids will never get bored )
Self cleaning toilets (the kind that washes the entire room including walls) are a huge plus for me as I am always reluctant to using public toilets.
There are places you can buy beverages including fresh orange juice vending machines.
Restaurants are also in front of the zoo, you can notify the guards that you want to go eat and that you will come back if you just want a break.
In terms of animals, insects, birds, reptiles you have a large spectrum of species to see. My favorite were the following: Cats such as Lion, Black Puma, Tigers ( 3 species including Siberian Tiger ), Bobcat, Wild cats (like the ones people own but... wild xD) since I own two at home :) Monkeys are super entertaining and depending on their mood they might even interact with you, more specifically mocking you and imitating you. Nile crocodile Eagles ( First time I went on the feeding time and I have encountered the American Eagle hunting living mice which was incredible to see a glimpse of what they are like out in the wild ) Arctic Wolves ( They were playing by running in a pack and "hunting" the "alpha" male (wolfs dont actually have an alpha male but rather breeding pairs)) Camels and dromedaries Llamas because well... because they are llamas. And many more that I cannot remember but that you can explore on your own and take pictures of because it is allowed as long as there are no flash lights.
The place has free entry for people with...
Read moreFirst I would like to star with the only negative point. It was the " security " the old useless security guard was an embarrassment to the term security. It said on the cages not to feed the animals or to bang on the glass. He was walking around watching people throwing crisps and popcorn to the monkies and he said nothing. The same family were trying to enrage the baboons still he said nothing. They were banging on the glass where the back of the monkies habitat can be viewed. There were also a couple of teenagers who were pulling berries off a tree next to the lemurs and throwing them in. It said not to feed them as they can get sick. He did not care . He was looking at all this and he just strolled around. As for the rest of the visit. It is a wonderful zoo. You can get to see some amazing animals . It gives you enough information about them in English and Romanian. The animals were relaxed and not stressed by the environment. The entrance fee is very good. There were plenty of toilets, bins and drinking fountains around the park. It is a wonderful place to spend a couple of hours. They need to completely change the security for people who actually care about what they are doing. There is limited parking but it was a great way to spend a...
