The Stirbey Domain is gorgeous. Unfortunately, its management is corrupt and unprofessional. Do yourselves a service and avoid hiring them for any important event. My fiancé and I had booked a tent at Stirbey for our wedding in July 2020. In early May, when the coronavirus was raging across Europe, we realized we would have to postpone our wedding and reached out to Stirbey about rescheduling our wedding for the summer of 2021. Geanina, one of the sales managers, surprisingly told us that all of the Saturdays in July and August of 2021 were already booked. I thought it was suspicious because Stirbey hadn’t seemed so popular when we booked it a year previously. So I asked my sister to enquire about the summer of 2021 from the position of a new bride, and lo and behold, Geanina told her all the Saturdays in July and August were AVAILABLE for booking. It turns out, the sales team had been ordered to try to press current clients into rescheduling their events on Sundays – which is an inconvenient day for weddings in Romania – in order to keep all the Saturdays empty for new potential customers and maximize their profits. Long story short, after threatening to sue them for discrimination, the Stirbey sales team produced options for us to reschedule our wedding for a Saturday in the summer of 2021. But we ultimately decided to drop them, despite losing our advance payment, because we didn’t want to have the most important party of our lives organized by people who had betrayed our trust. We found a different place run by people whom values better align with ours, and we are very excited to have our wedding there when the time is right. This was our experience...

Be careful for the entry ticket, there are two options, a cheaper one for just "the walk in the park" and a slightly more expensive one that converts the entire amount into restaurant vouchers. Obviously, we opted for the second one, as it was more effective, and we had the kids along. However, when we got to the restaurant, we were told that the tables were fully booked. Of course that we were a bit surprised to say the least, and we asked the staff how come they sell restaurant vouchers with no access to the restaurant, is this a scam or what?! After prolonged arguments we were given a table, as a favor :))) and they were very very arrogant about it too, saying that it'our fault, and we should have had "the common sense" to call for a reservation. I am asking myself, how come you sell restaurant vouchers with a fully booked restaurant?!!! Not to mention that we were accompanied by two small childred, under two years old. Otherwise, the food was great and the...

The Stirbey Palace was built between 1855 and 1864 by Barbu Stirbey, the Romanian Landlord. Important figures for modern Romania were often guests of the Stirbey Domain as Regina Maria himself, who spent a lot of time there. Alongside the palace, between 1850-1890, the family chapel was built, containing the tombs of the ruler Barbu Dimitrie Stirbey Voievod, Prince Barbu Alexandru Stirbey and their relatives. From the painting performed in 1890 by Gheorghe Tattarescu, a relative of the Stirbei family, there are only fragments of the Virgin Mary's painting with Jesus, the rest of the paintings and the text "This holy place founded by Voda Barbu Ştirbei and his wife Elisaveta ended their son Alexandru Barbu Ştirbei in 1890 ", being lost. Access to the chapel is made on a monumental ladder consisting of two semicircular ramps, built of Carrara marble.

I went here with some friends to spend a nice Sunday walking in the park in autumn and have lunch. The premises met my expectation after the feedback received from other persons. The location is close to Bucharest, some 25 km (depending from where you came). The entrance was free and a big parking lot is inside the premises. The park is big enough, you can walk aprox 3 km on its alleys. The forest is natural, as the trees growed, no human intervention. Except the forest, you have a lake and some points of attraction ( the chapel, the old tower, etc). Inside the castle, at groundfloor there is the restaurant. food was good, staff was nice.

The place is good for nature walk.Is 20Km far from Bucharest. Is a historical area with a very beautiful church. Inside the church are located the tombs of Stirbey family. The religios paintings on the are made by Tatarascu a very appreciated romanian painter. In the courtyard of the palace is small lake. You can visit the palace but you have to pay a small fee. You can try some romanian dishes inside the Palace Restaurant. If you choose to visit the place please be go there in the week days NOT IN WEEK END! The zone is full of events in the week end and you day will not be so nice! The area is safe for tourists.
