I would rate this 0 STARS if I could! In order to visit the forest you have to get on a truck with just wooden benches and a roof,no seatbelts,no cushions, not even doors. The ride quickly turns into a nightmare because the careless, incompetent and inconsiderate driver takes the bumps on the questionable/rustic road at a high speed. This causes the whole truck to jump and leaves the tourists in the back exposed to dangers like hurting multiple body parts including their spine or even flying off the vehicle.Talking from experience, this is not a journey you’ll want to endure and if you can’t stand in a squatting position for the whole ride(2 hours) ,the consequences regarding health may be fatal. One may say “Oh,but seeing the forest is surely rewarding”,to which I reply”No,it’s more than disappointing”. The visit only takes about 15 minutes since only a narrow path is available for the tourists, which brings them to some pathetic sand dunes. The fact that they charge this much money for such poor experience is revolting and vile. I absolutely despised this trip and wouldn’t ever want go through it again.A shame for...
Read moreJuly 2019 - no guide told us that in the Letea Forest there is a mosquito infestation this year. Everyone pretended that they didn’t know this year it’s THIS bad. Shame on the locals for not advising tourists not to go in there, especially with little children. Shame on the horse drawn carriage operators for taking people and even their horses in there. I’m not talking about a few mosquitoes you can get a spray for - clouds and clouds of mosquitoes making everyone’s skin (after half an hour) like they have the worse case of chickenpox. Poor people like us going in there, and poor horses visibly hurting being forced to go in there over and over again. Cruelty for a buck. Shame on the authorities managing the Delta and it’s forest for overlooking the problem hoping bad reviews won’t come in. Don’t know about previous years / previous months - but in the summer 2019 DO NOT ENTER THE LETEA FOREST. and oh, not even a public toilet in site. NOT. A. SINGLE. ONE. Disgusting. One star...
