Cozia National Park is a hiker’s dream destination and one of the most breathtaking protected areas in Romania. The almost endless nature panoramas and the rich cultural heritage from its foothills transform this national park into one of best hiking locations in the Carpathian Mountains.Situated along the valley of one of the longest rivers in Romania, Olt, the area of Cozia National Park extends on over 17,000 hectares and includes Cozia Mountain and partially Capatanii and Lotrului Mountains. With a maximum altitude of 1,668 meters reached in the highest part of the massif Cozia, these mountains are not nearly as tall as the...

This is an excellent place to go over the weekend for some hiking. It’s far from the major cities so it’s not very crowded. The forest trails are well marked so no risk of getting lost. There are several long trails that you can take and that will take your full day. On one of them there is a nice isolated church - Stanisoara monastery. Cabana Cozia at the top of the mountain is an excellent place. You won’t have the best staying condition but they can offer food, drinks and shelter (the hygiene is not...

Beautiful place (mostly) unspoiled by excessive tourism. Don't just visit the Lotrisor waterfall, there are so many hiking trails you can combine to make shorter or longer trips, just consult the map available on their website, it's mostly accurate (few exceptions due to last year's storms that caused massive tree falls which obstructs some of the trails, especially on the western side of the park).

This place is amazing. It's like being on top of the world. The view of the Olt river flowing through the valley It's amazing 👏. The houses look like ants. The other mountains ⛰ are just like a labyrinth among each other. It's a very quiet and relaxing place to visit
