Went there last weekend. Great place for a family hike, accessible to kids, with good places for picnic. Easy parking next to the Cheile Carașului guest house. Afterwards, you have to cross the bridge ( direction towards Resita) and go down the visible stairs. Once on the river bank, you have to turn left and then cross on the other side of the river, then left again. Follow the blue triangle, basically you’ll walk upstream on the left side of the river. After 30 minutes you will reach the Bats cave, very spectacular. Pay attention, it is on the other side of the river, but worth crossing it and climb the 5 meters vertical wall. Dangerous for unfit people or kids. Do not try it. From there, at least 1.30 to 2 h to Prolaz clearing. Back and forth, around 6 hours for us with a 6 years old. At the end, one can enjoy good coffee and food at the guest house, but the offer is very limited. I recommend...

Atentie! Insa, probabil drumul s-a mai ingustat in timp. In rest...e Minunat.

Amazing place to visit. You can leave your car in Carasova and walk on the narrow footpath by the river. The best place of Cheile Carasului is at about 3 hours of walking, but it totally worth it. The water is so clear and deep in some places and you can even see fish. I totally recommend it for visiting. You can do the hike in less than one day, but if you dare for more, there is the possibility to...
