Criș Bethlen Castle — Attraction in Daneș

Apreciez doar cu 4 stele deoarece, desi castelul este in restaurare si renovare totala, nu se specifica acest lucru in niciun material informativ. Dupa ce achita taxa de intrare (care reprezinta, de fapt, mai mult o donatie pentru restaurarea si renovarea castelului), vizitatorul este intampinat de un panou care il avertizeaza ca intra si viziteaza castelul pe propria raspundere! Nu exista niciun fel de limitare in ceea ce priveste intrarea in absolut orice zona sau incapere a castelului, in conditiile in care sunt locuri in care accesul se face precar si destul de periculos. Avand in vedere cele de mai sus, consider ca ar fi corect ca proprietarii castelului sa permita accesul si vizitarea acestuia doar la finalizarea completa a tuturor lucrarilor de renovare si restaurare! Pe de alta parte, sunt absolut convins ca, atunci cand va fi gata procesul de restaurare si renovare, castelul va fi absolut spectaculos. Constructia in sine este superba, evocand stilul de viata al secolelor XIV - XV. Recomand cu caldura o vizita la acest castel dar dupa finalizarea lucrarilor de renovare! I only appreciate 4 stars because, although the castle is in total restoration and renovation, this is not specified in any informative material. After paying the entrance fee (which is, in fact, more of a donation for the restoration and renovation of the castle), the visitor is greeted by a panel that warns that the visit of the castle is done on its own responsibility! There is no limitation regarding the entrance to absolutely any area or room of the castle, as there are places where access is made precarious and quite dangerous. Given the above, I think it would be fair for the castle owners to allow access and visitis only when all the renovation and restoration process is finished! On the other hand, I am absolutely convinced that, when the restoration and renovation process will be done, the castle will be absolutely spectacular. A project that well & trully deserves top marks. Off the beaten track (read that Sighisoara - Medias road), keeps it charm after all these years. Part of a restoration project that I hope is seen through to completion, this is probably one of the most underrated castles Ive seen. Had an improptu guided tour offered by one of the locals - whos name Ive forgotten, sorry :( , massively knowledgeable & kind enough to walk me through the places history & secrets). This will certainly be a usual stop for me whenever visiting the area. Place is properly managed & the site manager is doing a brilliant job, though Im sure this is neither an easy nor short term project....

We continue to Cris / Kreisch, where a castle of the Hungarian family Bethlen is restored. The castle has a medieval ring wall and loggia in the style of the 15th century. The Romanian state had previously tried several times to restore the castle, but abandoned unsuccessfully. Then they gave it back to the old hungarian Owner Family. Now the work is in full swing thanks to a Hungarian foundation. The site manager lets us in for 10 lei per person and tells us that we can visit freely.
