This is a set of 28 water mills spread all over the village. Those water mills have recently been restored thanks to european founds. This is a very nice and quiet place to have a walk. Please take some time to stop and discuss with the people present in the mills. Each mill is owned by 28-30 families, each one getting a 1 day/month access to the mill to grind their own grains. They usually grind corn to make corn meal (so called mamaliga or coleasa), less frequently weat since it's more dusty. Don't hesitate to buy some corn floud: first this artisanal home made mamaliga meal is so much tastied than the industrial one, second you will support local communities. Exchanging with local people is so much more interesting that just reading google advices alone :-) Food and drinks available onsite. Take the time to stop, watch the stone grinding the grains, listen to the music of the stone rotating, smell the perfume of freshly ground corn. Enjoy :-)

A very nice place. Nice interesting mills. They still work and they are still used. Too bad that the road to access them is awful. I recomend not going there with a car thar has slightly lower or harder suspensions.
Edit: The road was rebuilt and is in a good condition. A parking place was build for 10 RON / day, which also grants access to a toilet.
Watch out: if you buy the alcoholic beverages, be prepared to buy a very low quality. I just bought a quince "țuica" only to realize back home that it is a very weak plum "țuica" with some slices of quinces in it. Also bought blueberries liquor just to find out that it is plum "țuica" with some blueberry syrup.

This should be more popular. We discovered this by chance and went there with low expectations... But we loved everything. The people are very nice, the water mills are awesome (old, but working in perfect conditions), the view is amazingggg. If you want to know some informations about the place or the mills, you can ask the people from the mills or stores. They will tell you nice stories about the past and present. You can buy some local products and souvenirs.

Totally worth visiting! Most of the mills are working to this day (they are over 150 years old). There are locals willing to show you how the mechanics of the water mills work. They also sell stone-ground cornmeal, whole-wheat flour and other traditional goodies!
The road that leads to Rudăria has recently been built, so there is good and easy access to the village and to the water mills.

Archaic, special places. Beautiful functional water mills. We were lucky to find a beautiful character to explain us the mechanism of producing maize flour, the legend of Eva an Adam. It s like the time stood still. It reminds me of my grandma sifti g the maize. Such traditions won t find everywhere. Plus you can buy this maize and the polenta is delicious:))

Wonderful visit and surprise how good kept they are! You can find around 5-6 water mills, for visit but in the Eftimie Murgu are around 14 water mills in total.
The visit is for free and you can buy local products from the people who sell there. It is recommended, because are handmade and the flour from grain and corn are very good, made in front of you.
