It's good to visit this place one time in your lifetime, but I see no reason to come back. From Wikipedia I found that the palace was never completed because the construction was started by George Cantacuzino who died before the construction was finished. After his death, his son, Mihai, didn't want to continue, then the WWII came and what was not destroyed by germans, was done by the comunists. The ruins are dangerous and cannot be visited, but it's worth to enter the big park and to admire the Palace from a safe distance. There is also a tower, in an advanced state of degradation, also not visitable. To enter the park, do not follow the traffic signs because there is no entrance in front of the palace. And there is nothing at 2km, as the traffic signs said. The entrance is in a small alley, that opens from the big street...

The internal walls collapsed both due to two earthquakes and due to the local inhabitants who demolished them to take building material. The garden was originally very decorated and included an artificial lake with reinforced concrete (an innovative feature for the time, in fact the house was built in the first decade...

Charming place, a sad witness of both our (Romania's) hard history and modern incompetence/corruption. Now it's on a path to stabilization and partial recovery, hopefully in two years it will look a lot better. If there are any activities (and there are plenty organized during the year) then the charm of the ruins add a lot to the overall atmosphere. If not, there is not much to see but the park is an excellent spot for a picnick and outdoor activities.

Finally, a warm thought and kudos for the passionate volunteers that maintain and fight for the preservation of this...
