I recently visited the Dinosaur Geopark in Hateg, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. Although the park is relatively small, it packs a punch with its unique exhibits and passionate guides. Tibi, Our Fantastic Guide: Tibi, our guide, made the experience truly memorable. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he shared fascinating insights about the ancient creatures that once roamed this region. His storytelling skills brought the dinosaurs back to life, making the tour engaging and educational. Dinosaur Discoveries: The museum houses artifacts discovered in recent years. These rare finds provide a glimpse into the prehistoric world. Tibi’s explanations made the exhibits come alive, and I left with a newfound appreciation for these ancient giants.
Community Effort: What impressed me most was that the geopark was created by a group of young enthusiasts. Their dedication put Hateg on the tourist map, and I applaud their efforts. The fact that there’s no entrance fee (though donations are welcome) speaks to their passion for sharing knowledge. In summary, the Dinosaur Geopark may be small, but it’s big on heart. If you find yourself in Hateg, don’t miss this hidden gem. And remember to ask for Tibi—he’ll make your visit unforgettable! 🦕🌿 Note: The Dinosaur Geopark is located at Libertatii Street 9A, Hateg, Hunedoara,...

Read moreVery disappointing experience here. It has a great area to play in around the park. However, there is extremely limited information on dinosaurs here. I expected some form of a museum indoors. However, the information here is limited to posters in glass and this focuses on wildlife in general.
The most disappointing part of this venue is that they try and charge you for everything inside. From the bouncy castle to the slides, to the train ride. They try and charge you extra.
There is the ridiculous situation of a member of staff by himself trying to charge you to use the bouncy castle with no one on it. Then you have 15-20 kids in the park with none of them using it, because its charged for 15 minutes or 30 minutes. The parents rightfully just see this as a rip off and avoid it because they already paid a fairly high price to enter the park to begin with!!
Essentially it just reeks of trying to scalp you once you are inside. Many of the additional things inside should be free. Its pointless having a completely empty and unused bouncy castle or slide, just because you want to charge...
