It was a decent experience, though it left room for improvement. The garden itself is spacious and peaceful, with a wide variety of plants and trees. Some sections, like the rose garden and the greenhouse, were well-maintained and enjoyable. It's a great place for a quiet walk, photography, or simply relaxing in nature. However, a few things brought the experience down for me. Several areas felt a bit neglected — missing labels on plants, and sections that looked like they could use some care and maintenance. The signage throughout the garden could also be improved, especially for non-Romanian speakers. It would have been helpful to have more information about the different plants and garden sections. You have nowhere to buy some water. We even asked one of the employees watering the gardens, he was a bit abrupt considering the water was for a kid. They have a small tea shop, but it was closed. There was a small fee to enter, which is understandable, but I expected a bit more polish for a place that promotes itself as a major tourist attraction. That said, it's still worth a visit if you're in Iași and want a break from the city. Just temper your...

Being used to small botanical gardens in western Europe, this huge 80 hectare botanical garden is an impressive discovery. Extremely well taken care of, clean, well organized, for everyone something to see. The rose garden is gorgeous and really offering a large collection. One minus point is the lotus pond, which has stagnant water and should be improved (is it my imagination or are the Koi drowsy from the reduced oxygen...?). In rest, there is a lot to see and discover. Prices are reasonable and monthly ticket is recommended in case you return more often. The tea shop near the entrance is fine and staff adorable and helpful. Be warned that the road to the lake down the hill is long, very long, and can be tough for people with difficulties or disability. The opening hours are till 20:00 and gate closes at 21:00. But the glass houses are only till 18:00. We returned daily during our...

Best place in Iasi for a walk, a run, biking, photo sessions or just for clearing your mind.

A bit crowded during the weekends, holidays and hot days in general. Don't be afraid to explore the off paths, as they usually lead right to another trail.

You can sometimes spot deer, pheasants, foxes, hares, ducks and quite a few smaller birds. Use anti tick spray if you're exploring tall grass zones.

Please remember to take your trash with you to the nearest bin. It's a desolate view after the snow melts and pieces of trash stand out before the vegetation covers them.

During the winter time, the lake freezes. You can sometimes spot children playing on it. Always be careful and do not leave children unsupervised on the ice. Fishing is prohibited, but you can sometimes spot a fisherman doing his thing.

My favorite...

Romania’s oldest and largest botanical garden -1856 - located in the Copou district. Spanning over 80 hectares, it features diverse themed sections —Romanian flora, world plants, rose gardens, greenhouses with tropical species, and even an area designed for the visually impaired - very nice feature, congrats! Visitors praise its peaceful atmosphere, well-kept landscapes, and seasonal flower exhibitions like azaleas in winter and chrysanthemums in autumn. It’s ideal for relaxing walks and picnics, with scenic hills, ponds, and shaded spots. Some note that it feels traditional and lacks interactive elements. Overall, it’s considered one of Iași’s top attractions for nature lovers.
