Die zweispurige oder ausreichend breite einspurige Transbucegi führt durchgehend asphaltiert rechts am Stausee Lacul Bolboci vorbei und endet auf einem ungeordneten Parkplatz neben der Endstation der Telecabina Bușteni - Babele - Peștera.
Die alternativ links am Stausee vorbeiführende DJ714 weist - warum auch immer - zwei mehrere hundert Meter lange Schotterabschnitte mit tiefen Pfützen auf, führt dafür aber sehr schön durch eine kurze Schlucht.
Die weit vor dem Stausee abzweigende Drumul Babelor (DJ713) ist bis zum Abzweig (wilde Stellplätze) zur Cabana Piatra Arsă (Parkplatz) asphaltiert. Die Weiterfahrt zur Bergstation der Seilbahn bzw. zu den sehenswerten Gesteinsformationen Babele und Sfinxul und weiter zum Gipfel Coștila (2498 m) wird durch eine Schranke blockiert.
