Cornet Waterfall — Attraction in Nădrag

It's a beautiful walk if you don't mind a bit of a hike, and a beautiful setting out in the forest. The hike was worth it for us because we went as a family. Was the actual waterfall (cascada) worth it? Not particularly. What is irritating is that map shows that the road goes right up to where the waterfall is (and in reality, it does); the problem is that 1.5 kilometers or so before you get to the waterfall, there are signs all over warning that the public is not allowed on the road, unauthorized vehicles prohibited, video surveillance, etc. So we had to park the van and walk for 1.5 km up the road and back. Not so bad, but be prepared to spend a good 60-90 minutes going up there and back. (yes there were a couple of cars in a small parking area near the falls, but on our way back to our van, we saw a forestry guy going up that way to where the cars were parked, don't know if they got a warning or cited or what). The waterfall itself is not that impressive. Again the setting is beautiful, but the waterfall is more like large rapids, nothing impressive like most people would think of waterfalls. Bottom line: somewhat of a hike, not that impressive, but beautiful setting, and a nice way to spend some time...

Visited on 4th June 2023 . The waterfall of Cornet is located near the city of Nadrag , which is awfull but the roads are impecable . At the end of the town you can park the car where the asphalt runs out or continue on a forrest road ,which is also in good shape , follow Nadrag river untill you reach the waterfall , by foot on the forest road you will have to walk 15-20 mins. Signs and notifications could be better , meaning they are not missing entirely . There are lots of camping places . Ideal for a daytrip in the nature or for camping . Not too many tourists . The ones with bikes or ATV can...

O plimbare care si-a meritat timpul alocat, in primul rand nu trebuie mers dupa o perioada ploioasa pentru ca drumul devine foarte mlastinos, fiind si multe utilaje forestiere prin zona sau compatrioti de-ai nostri care ignora semnul de interzis si conduc pana la cascada facand drumul si mai impracticabil decat este, sunt multi care gresesc si isi lasa masinile langa tabara scolara pentru ca pe acolo se cam termina asfaltul, dar se mai poate merge cateva sute de metri pana la un indicator si un spatiu de parcat mai lat pe partea dreapta. Ca timp undeva la 20-25min. daca nu alergi, drumul se parcurge paralel cu raul Valea Cornetului, sunt peisaje frumoase cu natura in esenta si linistea ei, cursul raului si lumina zilei infrumuseteaza si mai mult calatoria. Acum in functie de perioada anului si precipitatiile de sezon, cascada Cornet isi schimba amploarea, defapt sunt mai multe caderi de apa in vecinatatea ei daca stai sa le cauti, vara se poate cobori la rau/urca inapoi cu un minim de efort desi de ajuns la baza cascadei nu prea ai solutii decat daca te urci pe stanci si nu e zona inundata prea tare, oricum peisajul e splendid si vuietul produs de caderea apei este foarte relaxant. Turisti mai putini de regula, in cazul de fata as putea sa spun ca din fericire nu este prea populara si nici promovata, insemnand ca ai mult spatiu la dispozitie sa cauti poza perfecta si locul este mai ferit de gunoaie si taraboi. Am ramas cu o energie pozitiva si o stare de bine dupa aceasta excapada, am vizitat cascada tot toamna, cu siguranta mai revin si in alte anotimpuri....
