Just driving there is an adventure all by itself. Once off the main road the way is 50% asphalt gravel and 50% dirt with lots of big pot holes. Plan on driving average 20 km/h. Wild forests rear up on both sides almost the whole way, there's a nice little waterfall on the right about halfway. There are several trails going into the woods that are marked on trees and rocks. Once you get to the spot it's a 1 minute walk from where you park. The gap itself is 200 meters long and breath taking. Stop looking at pictures and go there.

The drive is about 13 kilometres to the Corcoaia gorge. The road itself was at one time a proper tarmac road. Now, however, it's nothing more than an interconnected series of potholes. We did eventually make it to the gorge, but it took something like 2 hours of very slow, careful driving to get there. Although the scenery along the way is lovely. The gorge itself is only about 200 metres long, but it is absolutely stunning. It's a little tricky to walk along, with a slippery rock "trail" sloping towards the river.
