Stațiunea Parâng — Attraction in Petrila

​Statiunea Parâng is a truly beautiful mountain area that holds immense potential, and we make sure to visit whenever we get the chance for a bit of quiet time to unwind. The views are spectacular. Seeing the city from this high up is absolutely breathtaking! ​The mountain offers a lot to do, especially during winter time, but unfortunately, I don't believe the area is being exploited to its maximum. It feels like the natural beauty and resources are being left out, which is a real shame. The area deserves more investment to match its incredible setting.

​A Note on Access: In the summer, I highly recommend driving up. The access road is actually in really good condition, making the journey up quite pleasant. Not sure if the road is accessible during winter time, to be checked locally. ​I would strongly advise against using the main chairlift if you can avoid it, it definitely needs an upgrade! While I know there is another chairlift available from Cabana Rusu, it's not always operational. For now, driving remains the most reliable, safe and comfortable way to reach the top. ​Despite the feeling that the area potential is untapped, the sheer beauty of the location and the quiet, relaxing atmosphere make it a worthy destination. Good points: The slopes are really wild and the place is awesome for both off track and slopes. You have great restaurant and accommodation options (I recommend Hotel Rusu). The slopes are a bit difficult for beginners but this has the advantage that overall the ski resort is not super crowded.

Bad points: There is no skipass system and you have to pay (cash only) each time you ride. Sometimes you cannot put your skiis while riding the chairlift and you need to carry your skiis in hand (this is dangerous). The longest chairlift takes 25 min to ride and has no wind screen.
