The Platărești Monastery is a monastery of the Orthodox confession, under the canonical subordination of the Bishopric of Slobozia and Călărași. The monastery was founded by the Lord of Wallachia Matei Basarab and his wife Elina, in 1632, the stone church of the monastery being built between 1642-1646 by the same Lord and consecrated on April 3, 1646. Plătăreşti Monastery has an important historical and heritage value, through the painting in the pronaos and the four royal and patron icons, preserved in their original form from the time of Matei Basarab. It is, along with the Arnota Monastery, the only monastery founded by Matei Basarab in which the original mural painting from the 17th century has been preserved.

O manastire micuța aproape de București la circa 20 km pe A2 iesire spre Cernica doar ca in loc sa mergem spre Cernica o luam in dreapta spre Tânganu. Mănăstirea a fost ctitorită de domnitorului Matei Basarab și soția sa Elina, în anul 1632. De soarta mănăstirii se îngrijesc cinci măicuțe sufletiste. Mănăstirea in ansamblu nu arată foarte bine deoarece in decursul timpului a fost transformată în pușcărie, spital și biserică comunală. Picturile sunt deosebite, iar biserica deși mică este superbă. Merită să o vizitați și să vă reculegeti o zi in această locație.

Nu pot da mai putine stele chiar daca e nevoie de restaurare. Maicuta de la locatie merita chiar mai multe stele. Locul e incercat de vremuri. Recomand citirea placutei de la intrarea in biserica pentru a afla schimbarile prin care a trecut manastirea.
