The best public cave I have visited in Romania so far and I can say I visited quite some. You can get by car, there is a parking place 200m away from the entrance where you can leave your car or 1km away at some cottages. Make sure you check the schedule as there are 1hour circuit trips so if you get there while the guide is in a visit you'll have to wait. There are some pretty decent eco toilets outside but no water.

The visit inside the cave requires climbing quite a lot of stairs but with some patience it is doable for most of us(I have heights sick and my son had 5 years when we visited and we managed well) but unfortunately there is no place for disabled people at the moment.

The cave is huge and quite long, it was a pleasure to visit and we met a great guide that accompanied us. In the winter it seems to be less visited so if you want a time when there are few people, winter is the best time for you.

We will definitely want to see it in summer because the scenery...

I highly recommend visiting. The tourist-accessible path is 1.5km long, and takes about 40 minutes; the guide stops to point out various interesting formations, and to give some speleological details. Unfortunately the guides only speak Romanian and Hungarian. The lighting makes the look spectacular, and the corridors are large, no need to worry if you are a bit claustrophobic.

If you go at the right time of the year, you will also find bats, some 12 species and a couple thousand creatures.

There is a cellular signal amplifier, so you get phone service up until the entrance. There is also a tiny stream if you need to refill your water bottle, and a small shop selling bracelets, fridge magnets and...

OMG!! This is a must see!! Not only the road there was beautiful but the cave itself was amazing. And there were so many tourists here. The entrance tote cave was extremely wide, very impressive. It reminded me of the Deer Cave in Borneo. There were some stairs, but with a slow pace and a few rests even an elder or overweight person can visit, if they don’t have knee problems. I convinced my mom to go with me and although she said many times that she wants to quit, I convinced her to continue. At the end, she was happy she went through with it and she loved the cave. I could take many...

Beautiful and much greater than the pictures show, you will feel like a dwarf walking in the halls of giants. We don’t speak Romanian, but our tour guide tried her best to tell is interesting facts in English. We really appreciated it. Thank you for the tour, I’ll recommend it to others for sure! It was about 1 hour long, if you feel cold easily then bring a small jacket. It was a perfect cool getaway in the smoldering summer heat.
