A lot of guides tells you that this place is in Sinaia. Wich is semi true. If you don't want to hike a LOT don't take the gondola from Sinaia but from Busteni! I took the gondola from Sinaia and ended up hiking for four hours as I tought the Sphinx was close to that Gondola. I asked the ticket lady if it was possible to see the Sphinx from there and she answeres yes. I came unprepared with bad shoes and little water so I was exhausted after four hours hiking. Of course this was my bad with little research but however take the gondola from Busteni NOT Sinaia. It was a hike for 4 hours and 600 meters climb. The gondola from Busteni parked about 300 meters from the Sphinx😅 I took the gondola down to Busteni and had to take a taxi from there and to Sinaia to retriever my car😅

Bucegi Mountains have a very steep slope towards the popular tourist destinations in the Prahova Valley , such as Busteni and Sinaia. At a higher elevation is the Bucegi Plateau, where wind and rain have turned the rocks into spectacular figures such as the sphinx and Babele . The Bucegi is believed to be the Dacian holy mountain Kogainon, on which the God Zalmoxis resided in a cave. The Bucegi Mountains extend on the territory of Dâmbovița, Prahova and Brașov counties. Being of a great structural and morphological complexity, the massif appears as a natural fortress, with the enclosure suspended at 1600 - 2500 m, supported by strong cliffs. Beautiful experience

Visited on a saturday, we went there quite early. I recommend going early because after lunch loads of people will turn up. We drove to Piatra Arsa, then walked up to the Sphinx. From the Sphinx we walked to the big cross (Crucea Eroilor). The hike is not super difficult, we had lovely weather which made it that much more enjoyable. There is a fee we had to pay to a ranger, 10 Lei per person. This is a ticket for Bugegi Mountains that is valid 3 months. You can pay cash on the spot or you can do this online too before you go. Didn't need to pay for the car park. In the car park there was a van that served drinks and food.

Absolut incredibil. Este SFINXUL. Nu trebuie o alta descriere. Nu exista cuvinte care sa surprinda frumusetea lui. Se poate ajunge cu telecabina (trebuie asteptat la coada intre 1 si 4 ore, nu conteaza ziua saptamanii). La baza telecabinei sunt si oameni care vor sa iti faca tururi scumpe cu microbusul. Nu ii asculta. Daca vreti un pic de aventura, mergeti pe Transbucegi (drum asfaltat FOARTE bine), apoi continuati o ora pe jos (Unii spun ca dureaza 30 de minute, altii 3 ore, nu ii asculta, atat a durat la mine, cu o viteza normala si cateva pauze chiar daca nu este nevoie, drumul pe jos fiind relativ usor). La sfinx este si un restaurant de la telecabina, acolo estr si o toaleta daca aveti nevoie. Echipament special nu prea e nevoie, poate niste pantaloni ok si adidasi confortabili, pe drum sunt nenumarate tarabe cu porumb fiert, dulciuri si apa. Un lucru FOARTE important e sa va uitati la meteo. Nu cautati "meteo sinaia" sau chestii din astea, ci "meteo sfinx bucegi". In oras poate sa fie nori si sa ploua, iar sus la sfinx sa fie canicula. De la Sfinx este drum pana la crucea Caraiman, iar si acela este cam de o ora. DOUA LUCRURI FOARTE IMPORTANTE: luati drumul de la sfinx la caraiman cu semnul de cruce rosie (asa cum se vede in a treia fotografie). Mai este un drum cu un punct albastru, am fost pe el la intoarcere. Este mult mai greu.Nu ai nevoie de echipament in plus, dar drumul este mult mai stramt pe acolo si e la marginea muntelui (a cincea fotografie), dar e mai frumos si putin mai rapid, dar e doar pentru aventurosi. Pe langa asta, crucea e in renovare si nu se poate intra in ea, ceea ce e cam trist, dar macar inca poti sa stai relativ aproape de ea. Cam asta este tot. Daca decizi sa mergi pe acolo, iti urez noroc!

Am făcut din nou o drumeție în Munții Bucegi, împreună cu prieteni mei, am avut parte de o nouă aventură fascinantă în Munții Bucegi. Am pornit din Bușteni și am urcat pe poteca Jepii Mici, urmând marcajul Crucii Albastre. În ciuda cărărilor înguste și abrupte, am reușit să străbatem aproximativ 4 ore și jumătate până la Cabana Caraiman, unde ne-am bucurat de o pauză bine meritată și de o masă hrănitoare. De la Cabana Caraiman, am continuat către impresionanta Cruce a Eroilor de pe Muntele Caraiman, o construcție înaltă de 39,3 metri, ridicată în memoria celor 30.000 de militari români căzuți în Primul Război Mondial. Acest monument impresionant a fost desemnat de către Guinness World Records ca fiind cea mai înaltă cruce din lume amplasată pe un vârf montan și a fost o emoție aparte să ne aflăm în preajma sa. Pe traseul nostru, am avut o surpriză specială: am găsit Floarea Reginei, cunoscută și ca Floare de Colț. Un moment unic și fermecător pentru noi, deoarece nu am mai avut ocazia să vedem această floare rară în sălbăticie. Continuând călătoria, am explorat Sfinxul din Munții Bucegi, o formațiune geologică fascinantă care ne-a amintit de celebrul Sfinx Egiptean. Aici am încheiat aventura noastră cu bucurie și admirație pentru frumusețea naturii. Drumeția noastră a inclus atât momente de efort și provocare, cât și de admirație și conexiune cu natura. Sunt mândru de echipa noastră și de modul în care am parcurs atât urcarea, cât și coborârea prin Jepii Mici. The views here are breathtaking, and everywhere you look you’ll spot some crazy rock formations. Some look like pigs, others like Darth Vader – makes you wonder if George Lucas got some ideas here. The star of the show is, of course, the Bucegi Sphinx. Legend has it this formation was worshipped in ancient times, and some say there’s no way wind and rain shaped this on their own. Conspiracy fans believe the Sphinx guards hidden tunnels leading to ancient secrets. We didn’t find any secret entrance… but maybe we just walked right past it. :) (instagram --> michaelnae)
