Măgura Sculpture Camp — Attraction in Tisău

A very special experience that helps you connect masterpieces, your self and the world we live in. It is a perfect way to spend some time walking around and admiring the beautiful work. Meaning exists and the fact that these works of art are out in the elements make you feel like time affects them also as it affects you. The cool thing is that it was a recurring thing for sculptors to participate a couple years in a row in defining and creating such works of art that are in essence in an outside gallery far off from the big cities. This level of high art and seclusion provide the a unique experience of having the place to yourself and getting to enjoy the view. One cool sculpture is the 2 pieces the dude that looks like a saint, Constantin Brâncoveanu and his 4 kids, he was put in a situation where he needed to renounce his faith and he refused having each child killed one at a time until he also got executed by the Ottomans. A friend of mine suggested that one of the sculputres is about plato's cave as one dude was staring back. Long story short go and explore it is a good mental excercise and a stimulating artistic experience...

One of the last view from the past ! for sure, you want to spent several hours onto these hills. Starting with 1970, for a period of 4-5 years, these place had become ROMANIA most uniquid exterior art galley, housing stone sculptures from a series of new and established Romanian sculptors. Each piece is a wonder by choice, but all together, exposed into the pasture of Magura hills, the view is fantastic. do not miss this opportunity, as for each season the sculptures will change their look, and each time the feeling...

Agonie și extaz. 16 ani, 16 sculptori au realizat pe 21 de hectare de poieni înconjurate de pădure 256 de sculpturi în aer liber, cu piatra pusă la dispoziție din cariera de la Măgura. Ore întregi nu sunt suficiente numai să le vezi și să te bucuri. Dar ... Dar Consiliul Județean Buzău și Ministerul Culturii nu sunt în stare să administreze și să pună la dispoziția iubitorilor de artă și natură un minim necesar: istoricul locului - vezi Ediție de colecție Editura MAD Linotype Buzău 2015 foto prof. Mihai Mincu volumul "Măgura - Tabăra de sculptură" - excepțional ghid instruit și pliante pentru vizitatori harta vizitării celor 21 de ha - majoritatea turiștilor parcurg zona de lângă șosea, fără să aibă habar de mărimea și restul sitului curățarea pubelelor (oribile) întreținerea peluzei, tăierea buruienilor și arbuștilor care ascund operele de artă, etc. întreținerea și restaurarea operelor de artă din piatră îngrădită zona de 21 ha amenajarea unui punct de informare turistică și a unei parcări civilizate, pe terenul Taberei de lângă șoseaua asfaltată. Sunt convins că punerea în valoare a acestui sit excepțional este de folos Buzăului, sculpturii ca artă și națiunii noastre. Nu trebuie uitat aportul esențial adus la realizarea monumentelor de către artistul Gheorghe Coman și Mânăstirea Ciolanu. Opinia mea personală o marchez în câteva foto exeplificative - realitatea e mult mai complexă. Cred că așa cum a fost conceput monumentul, ca operă colectivă, este unic.
