Peştera Româneşti — Attraction in Tomești

Beautiful cave though it's pretty vandalized because it is open for anyone and not everybody is civilized 🤭. It was very pleasant cool inside, very nice on a hot summer day. Important for people willing to visit the cave is that the access to the cave can be done only by off-road vehicles or on foot. About 20-30 minutes walk from the point where you can park your car (I used a normal car, no SUV). Don't follow Google maps when driving to the cave. You need to start from Romănești village (Google maps guides you on the other side of the hill through Fărășești valley and then you have no way/path/stairs, nothing to climb the hill through...

it has 2 access roads... i suggest taking the longer one about 1 hour of walking, its easy compared to the short one 15 mimutes of climbing very steep slope.I gave 4 stars cause the shortest way to the cave is very rough,raw and google maps takes you directly to it, so if you are unfit or old or have health issues you can't climb and have to go around few kilometers to access...

Comuna Tomești e una dintre cele mai ofertante când vine vorba de atracții turistice. Peștera de la Românești e una dintre ele. Începând din anul 1984, Asociația Speologică Speotimiș organizează în Sala Concertelor din această peșteră o serie de concerte la care au participat nume sonore ca: Filarmonica Banatul, Ștefan Ruha, Kathleen Evans, Alexandra Guțu, Gabriel Croitoru, Corala „Sabin Drăgoi”, grupurile “Bega Blues Band”, “Survolaj”, “ Nightlosers”, “Cargo”, “Celelalte Cuvinte”, “Implant Pentru Refuz” și nu în ultimul rând “Zdob și zdub” care au adus în Peștera Românești un număr record de 2.000 de spectatori. Mie personal îmi place mai ales drumul până la peșteră, liniștea și pacea călătoriei în sine, mirosul și sunetele pădurii pe care doar...
