Vama Egg Museum in the village of Vama is one of the things that you can't miss in Bucovina. You will be surprised by the richness of the collection. You will find eggs of many sizes, of many birds, originating from dozens of different countries of the world, decorated with many different techniques and materials and produced in different years. This museum is a continuous spreading of colours and shapes on hundreds of eggs, whose history is explained by an audio guide avalaible in many languages, in which the voice who explaines is that of Letitia Orsivschi herself, the woman and artist behind this museum. You can also find an explanation about the two main different techniques with which they can paint the eggs, one of these being invented in Bucovina. You can make photos by paying 10 RON (about 2 euros). Finally, you can buy some painted eggs made by Letitia Orsivschi. Even boys found it to be amazing! very hospitable staff, excellent exposition, composed perfectly to display eggs in colours, style, traditions. Older traditional, remarkable modern ones; on different egg sizes, styles and materials. I study ukrainian egg art for years, and supposed I am hard to be surprised, but - I was overwhelmed. For 3 years I planned visit, and now think, I'll be happy to come once more, with more friends. Definitely, this place is worth to be included in trip of everyone who is at least minimally interested in traditions, painting, collectioning, and much more!
