Read moreYou have to climb a rather steep pathway to reach the cave from the parking lot, but it's doable for general people. Overweight/obese people will definitely struggle, but it can be done. September 2021: Access inside the cave is subject to mask covering mouth/nose.
Nice acoustics inside the cave. In the past I've experienced the concert inside the cave and it was amazing. In September 2021 concerts inside are still suspended due to CoVID19 pandemic.
Almost 30min inside with the guided tour, basic explanations in Romanian. Interior was nicely made accessible with stairs/handrails wherever possible. Inside temperature is 8-10 Celsius so be prepared with warm clothes.
You can see the negative effects of human presence in the cave so in future you should listen to experts: no touching of watery deposits on walls as you can stop the rock formation for a couple of years.

Read moreWe arrived at the place by car and parked in a nearby improvised parking. From then, we had to hike up a hill (we had no option to take any bus to the top, probably due to covid) and the road was very steep and tiering. Arriving, we are met with a big group of people queuing for the next entrance to the cave (they only allow bundles of 20 people per one tour entrance). We went there on a Sunday in August and the price was 20 lei for adults and 10 lei for children, which is extremely expensive for what is worth. Even though you need to pay more money(based on other reviews) the tour is still the same length( 15-20 min), being just a very rushed experience. The cashier was quite rude and only took lei. The tour is also available only in Romanian. The price of the tour is not shown at the base of the hill, so you don't really know what to expect. We do not recommend this particular cave, not because it is not beautiful, but it's not worth it and the people who manage it are making a very...
