В мае 1904 на средства Карповых началось строительство собора Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы в Гатчине (арх. Л. М. Харламов при участии А. А. Барышникова). Освящен 13 октября 1914. В начале 1930-х собор закрыт. В 1990 передан православной общине. В 1991 возобновились богослужения и с этого времени не прекращались, несмотря на масштабные восстановительные работы.
