Sobor Arkhistratiga Bozhiya Mikhaila — Attraction in Ломоносовский округ

The cathedral was blessed to be built in 2005 by Patriarch Alexey II. In November 2008 the local bishop, Bishop Tikhon (Stepanov) laid and consecrated the foundation stone. Later, the mostly finished cathedral was consecrated by Patriarch Kyril on October 16, 2022. The cathedral is built with brick and mortar and covered in marble. The cathedral is open as of late October 2022 and has services everyday, starting with Divine Liturgy at 8:00 AM. On weekdays the lower part of the cathedral is used for the services while the upper part is used only on weekends, holy feast days, and hierarchical services. The wooden iconostasis in the upper part of the cathedral is covered with gold leaf and has 5 rows of icons on top of one another and it has more than 60 icons in it. 3000 parishioners can fit into the church comfortably. With the cross on top, it is 65 meters high or 213 feet and 3 inches tall. Здание очень красивое, территорию облагораживают, но зачем-то всё обнесли забором и ни прогулок там, ничего. Надеюсь, что после окончания всех работ территория станет общедоступной, иначе просто немаленький кусок земли на набережной будет...
