We recently went on an off-site tour to the St. Petersburg Metro Museum with our group, and the experience was truly unforgettable! The tour was conducted in English and was organized very professionally. The guide had excellent knowledge of the subject, spoke clearly and with enthusiasm, making the story engaging even for those who weren’t previously interested in metro history.
One of the most memorable exhibits was the control panel of an old metro train. We were allowed to come closer and take a good look at the buttons, levers, and instruments that drivers used in the past. It was fascinating to compare this equipment to modern control systems, and the guide explained in detail how it worked and how it evolved over time.
What impressed me most was how thoroughly the history of the St. Petersburg Metro’s construction and development was presented — from the earliest designs to modern technologies. The exhibits were visually engaging and full of intricate details, and the atmosphere of the museum was captivating from the very first minutes. I especially appreciated how interactive the tour was — we could ask questions and always received comprehensive answers.
It’s also worth noting the cozy and welcoming environment. This wasn’t just an educational visit, but a genuinely interesting and informative journey into the past and present of the underground city. I highly recommend it to both visitors and residents of...
Read moreIt was boring. Place itself is surprisingly small and empty. Exhibition of tickets is incomplete and chaotic. "Situation centre" and metro trains models were pretty interesting though. Museum would be fun for kids under 16, if they are wanting to know about most misterious public transport...
